Ian Cassette
Ian Cassette grew up in Tampa. He earned his degree in meteorology at Florida State University. During his time there, Florida State won the National Championship. It's a memory he'll never forget!
Ian's first job was at WIBW in Topeka, Kansas where he experienced all four seasons for the first time in his life, as well as the wild weather of the Plains. He then moved to Roanoke, Virginia to work at WDBJ7 as the weekend meteorologist. While in Virginia, he covered snowstorms, floods, and several tornadoes. Hiking mountains quickly became his favorite hobby there.
He also earned his certification (CBM) from the American Meteorological Society in 2021.
Ian is happy to be back in the familiar warm (and often stormy) weather of Florida close to family and friends. When not watching the skies, he enjoys rooting for his favorite sports teams, eating good food, and getting outside.
