Thomas Cole was honored with the FOX 35 Care Force award on Wednesday morning for his lifelong commitment to Cocoa's children and families. Cole was born and raised in Florida, and graduated from FAMU. Among a list of achievements, one is the founding of the Emma Jewel Charter Academy in the former Monroe High School building. FOX 35's Marley Capper presented the award to Cole this morning.

Seven people were involved in the crash, and five were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. All have since been released.
