Honor Flight Central Florida: More vets needed for fall trip

Honor Flight Central Florida said it is looking for more veterans -- specifically WW II and Korean War-era veterans -- to join its October flight to Washington D.C. These free flights bring veterans to Washington D.C., where they can create memories and see the historic memorials and tributes. Visit HonorFlightCentralFlorida.org to sign up. 

Healing garden for veterans in Brevard County

It's Military Appreciation Month and we're taking a look at a healing garden for veterans in Brevard County. American Legion Post 117 created the garden to be a calming, therapeutic area for veterans dealing with trauma. 

Kobat Kitchen: Serving meals and hope to fellow veterans

Chef Richard Bahre, a veteran, stopped by FOX 35's Good Day Orlando to talk about his non-profit, Kobat Kitchen. Launched in January 2026 and part of Nautical Salute, the goal is to help feed homeless vets, create community for other veterans, and to share their stories.  Chef Bahre and his business partners are currently working to build their own smoker, which will allow them to travel and attend other events, he said.
