Grady Judd: Nurse arrested for animal cruelty

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd held a press conference Thursday morning regarding a nurse from Lakeland who was arrested for three counts of felony animal cruelty. Tamesha Knighten, 51, was arrested after she allegedly poisoned her neighbors' two pet cats and pregnant dog, which also killed the 8 puppies in the dog's womb.

ix people were charged in "Operation Gangs & Guns" in Polk County after deputies busted a Lakeland gang accused of burglarizing cars to steal guns. Of those arrested, a 17-year-old described as an "organized criminal mind" who recruited members to commit crimes with him. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd reported 38 car burglaries in the south Lakeland area over three nights in four different neighborhoods earlier this year.
