DeBary teen who killed his mother over bad grades pleads not guilty

A Volusia County teen has pleaded not guilty to three charges against him.

Gregory Ramos appeared in court on Thursday morning, as he is accused of strangling his mother after an argument over his grades. Ramos reported her missing and staged a burglary. However, deputies did not buy the story because of the scratches on his face and other evidence. Deputies believe that he received these as a result of his mother fighting for her life.

Ramos pleaded not guilty on Thursday morning to all three charges against him.

The State Attorney says that Ramos is the youngest person he has prosecuted.
