Victim identified in deadly hit-and-run on SR 408

Orlando police officers have identified the man killed while walking down State Road 408 near Crystal Lake Road.  Authorities continue to search for the driver behind the deadly hit and run on Wednesday evening.

Just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, police say that a driver hit Glenn Kale, 41, and then took off.  As a result, traffic was backed up for miles. The road reopened around 10 p.m.

Investigators said they found the vehicle they believe was involved in the incident, a white Ford pick-up truck, but they have not yet identified who was driving. Police said tipsters led them to the car, but they would not say where it was located.

Investigators said it is illegal to walk down a limited access highway, so had the driver stopped, he or she likely would not have been facing any charges.

If you know anything about what happened or if you see that truck, please call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
