Elementary school on lockdown after student spots suspicious individual

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Orange County Sheriff's Office says that deputies received information on Thursday morning from a student that a suspicious individual between the ages 11 and 12 was seen on the Lake George Elementary school campus at approximately 9:33 a.m.

They say that the individual did not attend the school and was a possible threat. 

The sheriff's office said an investigation took place, as deputies conducted a search for the individual. The school was placed on lockdown at 9:34 a.m.

Deputies say their search yielded negative results and the lockdown was lifted at 11 a.m. However, the investigation is still ongoing. 

A deputy will patrol the school grounds for the remainder of the day.
