City of Melbourne Committee meeting over controversial mural

MELBOURNE, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A City Committee is coming together to discuss a piece of art that not everyone is fan of. 

A Los Angeles artist painted it last November for the City of Melbourne. The mural was supposed to look like a sketch, but the artist was inspired to paint something different.

Now, city leaders are appealing on the mural's approval by a city committee. Some say the artwork is cutting edge, while others say it condones violence.

On Thursday night, the committee will determine if all the rules were followed when the mural was approved.
