2 injured after car slams into Orlando church

Two people are recovering after their car slammed into a church in Orlando Tuesday night.

It happened around 10:00 p.m. at the St. Phillip Phan Van Minh Catholic Church.

Investigators said the car lost control on West Par Street and ended up hitting the sign and one of the support columns of the church.

Nick Brennon was riding his bicycle home from work when he saw the crash.

"Right around where the stop sign used to be, you can see where the car had come up onto the curb, comes right through about there, hits that, hits that, gets overturned."

Five parishioners were inside the church when it happened.  Fortunately none of them were injured.

Both the driver and passenger were taken to the hospital.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. It will be up to code enforcement to determine if there is any structural damage.
