Woman files lawsuit against Polk County Grady Judd

A new lawsuit accuses the Polk County Sheriff’s Office of a “pattern, policy, practice and custom, of failing to adequately train and supervise its officers resulting in the deprivation of minors’ constitutional rights.” The lawsuit comes after a child was raped by her adoptive father, but police first criminally charged the child instead of her abuser, accusing the little girl of lying. The victim’s abuser is now behind bars, facing a 17-year sentence.

A 17-year-old boy accused of staging a shooting and alleging his own abduction has been arrested and charged, the Marion County Sheriff's Office said. The boy was arrested on Tuesday on charges of providing false evidence, shooting into a conveyance, making a false report of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a minor.

'Not appropriate': Attempted rape suspect granted bond

A convicted felon accused of attempting to rape a woman on a popular Orange County running trail has been released from jail. The decision by a judge to grant Jacoby Tillman bond has drawn concern from prosecutors and past victims. Tillman was arrested Friday and faces charges including attempted sexual battery in connection with an alleged July attack on the Little Econ Greenway Trail. His first appearance was Saturday morning. Judge Elaine Barbour set his bond at $9,500, allowing his release on Sunday.

Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods joined FOX 35's Good Day Orlando to talk about the parole release of Ronald Exantus and Exantus' arrest in Florida. Exantus was released in early October from Kentucky prison, outraging many. He was arrested in Florida for failing to register as a convicted felon. Exantus was accused of killing a 6-year-old boy and attacking the boy's sisters and dad. He was found guilty of assault in attacking the sisters and dad, and not guilty by reason of insanity in the boy's stabbing death.
