UCF researchers create color-changing fabric

How cool would it be if you could change the color of your shirt, to match your mood? What if you could touch a button and turn your backpack or hand bag the colors of your favorite team?

Researchers at the University of Central Florida say they have created a new kind of "smart" fabric that will let you do just that.

ChroMorphous is a new innovation in the textile industry. The fabric is an active, user-controlled, color-changing eTextile. With ChroMorphous color-changing fabric, you can control the color and patterns of your clothing and accessories at any time, using only your smartphone.

When ChroMorphous is incorporated into a product, each thread can be activated, resulting in a variety of different colors and patterns.

Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, WETESO (Wearable Technology Solutions) partners with researchers, scientist and investors to develop commercial consumer products utilizing this technology.
