Student in custody after bringing air soft gun to New Smyrna Beach high school
NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A student is in custody after bringing an air soft gun to a high school in New Smyrna Beach on Thursday.
Volusia County Schools says that there was a code red at New Smyrna Beach High School.
They say that a student saw another student with an air soft gun. That student told a school staff member, who told the resource deputy. They found the student putting the gun in a trash can. The student was stopped and gun recovered.
The New Smyrna Beach Police Department says that the student is in custody.
No one was hurt, confirmed Volusia County Schools. The code red has since been lifted.
