Shark swims close to Cocoa Beach treasure hunter

A shark swam within inches of a man hunting for treasure on Cocoa Beach as other people on the sand were shocked by what they saw.  The incident which happened near the Cocoa Beach Pier was recorded and posted online and has since gone "viral."

The shark, believed to be a black tip, was spotted in less than two feet of water and was captured by BrevardTimes.com editor Sean Johnson on Monday. Lifeguards say, this shark was likely hungry.

Brevard County Ocean Rescue whistled everyone out of the water, and flew the "no swimming" flags. But they say the detectorist would not come out of the water, despite the lifeguard explaining to him exactly how close the shark was.
