Seminole County introduces virtual and augmented reality learning to classrooms

What if your child could go on a field trip to anywhere on earth? What if they could do it without ever leaving their classroom? They can now in Seminole County schools.

The district just spent $9,000 buying virtual reality gear. Teachers can check the system out from district HQ whenever they want to use it for their classes. Enough VR headsets and smartphones (uses as the VR screens) for an entire class to escape the walls of the school house and virtually go just about anywhere when combined with the Google Expeditions app.

But the tech learning revolution goes even further than that. The News Station’s Tom Johnson was in the classroom for the first lesson taught with the new systems.
