Sea turtle nesting season kicks off

ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Today marks the start of sea turtle nesting season.

Over the next few months, hundreds of turtles will be emerging from the surf to lay eggs on the beach.

This season is expected to be much different following Hurricane Irma.

Officials are reminding everyone to turn artificial lights away from the beach so you don't distract the baby turtles.
