Sales tax prices could increase in Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - The price of doing business in one Central Florida county could be going up.

Voters will decide if sales tax should increase in Osceola County.

The county said that money will go to improving transporation. For example, it will be used to fix roads and bridges, fill-in potholes, enhance intersections, and relieve rush-hour bottlenecks.

Cash will also go to other public transit options, including expanded bus services, walking paths, and bike lanes. These moves will help cut down on traffic in the county while helping the local economy.

The tax, if approved, will be in place for thirty years and raise about $67 million for the county.
