Orlando kicked off the weekend with some unseasonably warm weather.  The city also tied the record of 87 degrees set in 2021.

"Temperatures are 12 degrees above normal, and it's all out ahead of a cold front, sweeping 70s back to the region for the weekend before highs approach 90° next week for more record potential," said FOX 35 Storm Team Meteorologist Brooks Garner.

Expect picture-perfect weather for the Daytona 500, with highs in the upper 70s under mostly sunny, dry skies.

A surface high pressure will reach the mid-Atlantic coast on Sunday, veering winds onshore. That will make for a light breeze at the Daytona International Speedway.

Overnight lows will drop of the upper 40s and low 50s on Sunday morning, with highs in the mid-to-upper 70s.  By next week, temperatures will be on the rise reaching into the upper 80s or higher.

"We could be approaching 90 degrees for the first time this season," Garner added.
