Police swarm Daytona Beach marina after reports of gunfire

Police swarmed a marina in Volusia County early Wednesday morning after reports of gunfire.

This happened at the Halifax Harbor Marina in Daytona Beach. Police were called around 2:00 a.m. initially for a trespassing request. A couple had asked officer to assist in trespassing another woman from the boat the man owns.

According to the Daytona Beach Police Department, the woman on the boat and the man were involved in an intimate relationship without his wife's knowledge. The man reportedly decided to end the relationship and told his wife about it before they both went to the marina to have the woman removed from the boat.

The woman on the boat reportedly made suicidal threats to the man and his wife over the phone. When authorities arrived, the boat was floating about 20 feet away from the docks and appeared as if someone had untied the ropes, allowing the boat to drift.

Authorities on scene reported hearing several gunshots. The man confirmed there were firearms on board, including an AK-47 with 100 rounds and a shotgun.

It's unclear what what or who caused the shots to be fired. So far, no arrests have been made.
