ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A 4-year-old child was in the care of a neighbor for several hours Tuesday night, after the toddler wandered from his home, according to police.
"I had a minor child approach me, nude, looking for his mother," says Attorney Nicole Benjamin.
Benjamin walked down her driveway at about 6:30 p.m. to have the naked child walk up to her. She asked the child where his mother was. The toddler said his mother was sleeping, so Benjamin attempted to take him home. She says she arrived at the home to see the front door wide open.
According to an arrest report, that's the same thing Orlando Police would find when they arrived at the home. A police report goes on to state that, inside of the home, police found stained carpeting, dog feces, and evidence of marijuana.
The child's mother, 26-year-old Bianca Bethea, was arrested for child neglect. Bethea's arrest report states that this is the second time this year Orlando Police responded to Bethea's address for the sighting of a toddler wandering the street.
