Motorcyclist and victim of hit-and-run speaks

A man's life changed forever, after his motorcycle was hit by a driver. Joe Venable was on his motorcycle when a car smashed into him on July 28 in St. Cloud.

Now, St. Cloud police say the driver responsible is under arrest.  Weeks after, Venable is talking about the terrifying moments after the crash.

"Just knock me slap up in the air, and I come back down and the bike went flying. I forget how many feet they told me, and I remember laying in pain. I remember trying to get up," Venable tells FOX 35.

He went into surgery that same day. Doctors had to place a titanium rod from his knee to his ankle. They say it'll be another 8-12 weeks before he's able to walk. His ankle took the brunt of the damage.

"The bone was just sticking through and had punctured through my skin," says Venable.

He's grateful to be alive and says he wants the driver to be held accountable.

"I'm not asking for the man to spend the rest of his life in prison or nothing over it, but I do feel that he should pay for what he did."

The name of the driver has not been released.
