Miami airport closing one of its security lines as TSA workers stay home

Miami International Airport is feeling the impact of the government shutdown.

The airport is closing one of its security lines will close early to make sure checkpoints are staffed correctly. 

TSA workers missed their paychecks on Friday due to the government shutdown. As a result, many security workers are staying home. The increase in calling out began in late December.

Greg Chin of the Miami-Dade Aviation Department says that "the shutdown is real, so it is having some impact. We are seeing a higher than usual number of TSA screeners call out from work.

The closed security area will re-open on Monday.
