According to officials, crews received the call around 8 a.m. after a light fixture caught fire, filling the mall with heavy smoke. When crews arrived, they said the fire had died out, but had to immediately ventilate the area.

There was one person inside the home on Pierce Avenue when the fire started, but they managed to make it out safely, crews said.
