GOP candidates file for Henry, Richardon seats

Republican candidates have emerged to try to unseat state Rep. Patrick Henry, D-Daytona Beach, and to replace outgoing Rep. David Richardson, D-Miami Beach.

DeLand Republican Elizabeth Fetterhoff opened a campaign account Tuesday to run in Volusia County’s House District 26, according to the state Division of Elections website. Fetterhoff joined Henry, Democrat Percy Lee Williamson, Republican Michael Cantu and Libertarian Kyle Baker in taking the initial step in running for the seat. Henry had raised $15,500 for his re-election bid as of April 30, a finance report shows.

Meanwhile, in Miami-Dade County, Miami Beach Republican Jonathan Parker opened an account to run in House District 113, which is open because Richardson is running for Congress. Parker joined Democrats Michael Grieco, Kubs Lalchandani and Deede Weithorn in entering the race. Lalchandani had raised $90,888 as of April 30, while Weithorn had raised $65,832, finance reports show. Grieco will file his first report in June.
