Electrician discovers deceased woman in Deltona home

DELTONA, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A suspicious death investigation is ongoing after an electrician found a young woman shot to death in her Deltona home on Monday.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office and their investigators, who worked out of their mobile command unit overnight, say that they believe the victim, identified as 25-year-old Monquavia F. Hamilton, was targeted. 

They say that the electrician showed up to the home to do some work when he made the gruesome discovery. He called out a few times to see if anyone was inside because the door was ajar. He did not get an answer. When he went inside, he discovered Hamilton deceased.

Deputies also have not said if they have a suspect at this time, but they do think this is an isolated incident.

The victim's families and neighbors are grieving.
