Deputies: New scheme targeting seniors

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is warning people about a new scheme targeting seniors.

Deputies are calling it an old trick with a new twist. They say the suspects call a senior citizen, pretending to be a police officer, saying the victim's grandchild is in jail, and they need bail money. The new twist is that the callers have been making the victims physically get the money as well.

The sheriff's office says if someone calls you, and you do not recognize the number, you should let the call go to voicemail.
