Cocoa Police taking back unwanted prescription drugs

The Cocoa Police Department says that on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., they and the Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public another opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft.

They say that residents can use this opportunity to safely eliminate potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs from their homes by bringing the medications for disposal to the east parking lot of the Cocoa Police Department on West King Street.

Needles or other sharp objects will reportedly not be accepted.

Police say that this is a free and anonymous service, with no questions asked.
