CHICAGO (FOX 32 NEWS) - Struggling restaurant chain Chipotle is turning to a happy hour promotion in an attempt to boost sales.
The Mexican fast food chain is offering discounted or free alcoholic beverages as part of a new happy hour promotion, debuting in Chicago and certain markets across the Midwest including Kansas, Missouri and Iowa.
The promotion offers half off on beer and margaritas every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. through the end of September.
The promotion comes as Chipotle tries to win back customers after multiple foodborne-illness outbreaks last year.
