Florida has seen a mosquito boom since Hurricane Ian soaked the Sunshine State, leaving pools and puddles of standing water the little bloodsuckers use to lay their eggs. "Well they carry diseases, number one, and they're a pest!" says Winter Park resident John McDade.

Flagler County sees over $10M in residential damages, among 'catastrophic coastal erosion' after Ian

Hurricane Ian swamped cars in Florida, what to do if yours was flooded

Hurricane Ian damaged cars, along with Florida homes and businesses. Mechanic Steve Alfieri, from Russell Automotive, said water and cars don't mix. "It can be catastrophic or it can be minimal. The biggest problem is if the front of the car goes in too deep it can suck water into the intake."

More storm debris trucks added to Seminole County fleet

As storm debris cleanup continues across Central Florida, more trucks are being added to Seminole Counties fleet. As of Friday, there are 86 trucks riding through neighborhoods picking up storm debris. Next week, the county wants to add more.

We are tracking Tropical Storm Karl which is expected to make landfall in Mexico on Saturday morning. Another system in the Eastern Atlantic Ocean shows minimal signs of strengthening over the next three days and poses no risk to Florida.
