State commission investigating the Parkland shooting to address school safety plans

The state commission investigating the Parkland shooting will meet on Wednesday to address school safety plans.

The commission is considering several proposals, including whether to arm trained, volunteer teachers. They also will look at mandating armed security on all campuses and how it can be made harder for outsiders to enter Florida schools. Finally, they will look at the possibility of imposing more statewide uniformity in how troubled students are identified and helped.

The commission must file its report by January 1st.
