Sirois, newcomer file for house races

After easily winning an open seat in November, state Rep. Tyler Sirois, R-Cocoa, is making plans to seek re-election in 2020.

Sirois has opened a campaign account to run again in Brevard County’s House District 51, according to the state Division of Elections website. Sirois was sworn into the House after collecting 57.7 percent of the vote in the Nov. 6 election.

Meanwhile, in South Florida, Weston Democrat Robin Bartleman has opened a campaign account to run next year in House District 104, which will be open because Rep. Richard Stark, D-Weston, faces term limits.

Miramar Democrat Imtiaz Ahmad Mohammad also has opened an account to run for the Broward County seat.
