Seminole County Schools ban backpacks for remainder of school year

Students in Seminole County are heading to school without a pack on Wednesday.

Some schools have already been doing this, but now school leaders are expanding the ban district-wide.

This is just another example of schools rethinking security after school shootings, like the one in Parkland and the more recent one in Santa Fe.

Officials say it might be an adjustment for students at first, but they'll get used to it.

Polk County Schools decided on Monday to no longer allow backpacks at school as well.

These changes are in tact until decisions can be made for next school year.
