SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Authorities say they are searching for 25-year-old Yasmine Wilkerson who is accused of shooting a pregnant woman and her father in Southwest Philadelphia.
According to police, they are also searching for two unidentified men. Investigators say Wilkerson has a last known residence on the 4500 block of North Hicks Street. She was last seen wearing a purple shirt and black and purple workout pants.
"We heard shots—first it was a long shot then it was a whole lot of shots—maybe 15 to 18 shots. I don't know. It was a lot of them," neighbor Dorothy Woodson Miller said.
Woodson Miller says she an her husband were in bed at their home on the 5800 of Hadfield Street in Kingsessing when they heard gunshots about 10:30 p.m. Sunday night.
That's when they learned their 74-year-old neighbor and his 23-year-old daughter who is five months pregnant with twins had been shot.
Family members identify the victims as Fred Waring and BB Waring.
"It was very upsetting, of course," Woodson Miller said. "We heard Mr. Fred was shot 10 times and she was shot twice."
Police say the 23-year-old was shot in the leg and hip and that doctors say the babies will be ok. The father took a lot of bullets trying to protect his daughter.
"The father of the 23-year-old victim jumped in front of his daughter. Obviously, he took the brunt of the injuries here. He's currently in critical condition, been in and out of surgery all day," Southwest Detectives Lt. John Walker said.
Police say this all started after the 23-year-old posted on social media that she had gotten married earlier in the day. According to police, her new husband's ex-wife saw it and showed up at the house with a group of people and an argument ensued.
"That was broken up—ended. A short time later, people came back with guns and obviously this thing got out of control," Lt. walker said.
Police say at least 17 shots were fired from two guns.
