OCSO: Woman purposely blared music to disturb neighbor

A woman is charged with aggravated stalking after Orange County deputies said she harassed her neighbor by blaring loud music for months.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, Marianna Seachrist constantly blared workout music from her second-floor condo.

An affidavit said that Peggy Westby, the victim, tried to resolve the matter civilly several times before getting the authorities involved.

On July 3, deputies executed a search warrant and found the cause of the noise.

According to deputies on scene, speakers were found mounted face-down on the floor of Seachrist's home with weights and cinderblocks holding them down.

“There was an elaborate setup, regarding the ability to call in remotely, to turn it on and off, causing this quality of life issue, but, ultimately, this was an aggravated stalking issue,” said Capt. Angelo Nieves, spokesman with the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Seachrist has since bonded out of jail.
