Lake County Deputies to offer women's self-defense classes

The Lake County Sheriff's Office wants to help women protect themselves.

It's offering a program that will educate women on awareness avoidance, prevention and self-defense techniques. The tactics and techniques taught, will be done in a combination of classroom and practical ways.

Previous experience is not needed.

Former students range in age from 14 to 83.

Classes are on August 19, September 23 and October 28. They're limited to 20 people per class and only open to female Lake County residents at this time.
