Florida's political parties rake in money during session

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida's political parties are taking in millions of dollars from many corporations that have a stake in what happens during this year's legislative session.
New reports filed late Friday show that utilities, gambling interests such as the Seminole Tribe of Florida, sugar growers, retailers and the association that represents trial attorneys gave money during the first three months of this year.
The Republican Party of Florida, along with a separate fundraising account run by the GOP senate president, took in nearly $7.4 million.
In January, Republican activists rejected Gov. Rick Scott's hand-picked party leader and instead elected state Rep. Blaise Ingoglia to lead the state GOP.
Since that time, Scott has raised $1.1 million in his own fundraising account.
The Florida Democratic Party received roughly $2.75 million in cash donations.
