ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The University of Central Florida's food pantry was left bare in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Irma.
The Student Government Association at UCF is hosting "Uknighted" for Knights Pantry in hopes on getting the pantry back on its feet.
Students at UCF rely heavily on the pantry, especially during natural disasters. SGA's student body president says students can come in as many times as they want to get food when they can't afford it or if the stores are out because of a natural disaster.
Uknighted for Knights Pantry will challenge student organizations to collect the most non-perishable food to assist with the Pantry's hurricane recovery efforts.
The competition will be held through tonight at the Student Union.
