Curfew lifted in Seminole and Orange County
SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - As of 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon the curfew for Seminole County residents has been lifted. Seminole County Sheriff's Office and Emergency Operations strongly encourage residents to remain off the roads and highways, as significant hazards are present.
More than 400 roadway incidents have been reported since midnight, such as flooded or obstructed roads, and some traffic lights are not operational due to power outages. Incidents impacting main roadway are referenced on the attached map.
Motorists should approach all intersections with caution. If a traffic signal is not functioning at an intersection, it should be treated as a four-way stop. Drivers should come to a complete stop, and then yield to the vehicle that arrived first.
Motorists should never drive through standing water. If drivers encounter standing water, they should err on the side of caution and turn around.
Residents are encouraged to report road hazards, such as downed power lines, trees and other debris blocking roadways, to the Citizens Information Line (407-665-0000).
In addition to Seminole County, Orange County also announced they lifted their curfew at 2 p.m. Friday afternoon following Hurricane Matthew.
