Apopka homeowner fires at 3 intruders

When three strangers broke into one man's Apopka home, he grabbed his gun and started shooting, and the intruders fled.  Detectives are still trying to determine who those men were and what they were after.

It happened just after 10 a.m. Wednesday on Round Lake Road.  Orange County sheriff's deputies said those three men were armed with a gun, but so was the homeowner, described as a man in his 60s.

It is unclear whether this man was targeted for a robbery, but one neighbor said the victim had been on alert.

"I talked to him yesterday, and he said, 'You watch my house, I'll watch yours,' and then this morning, this happens," he explained.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
