Remaining wanted teen turns himself in for shooting that left a father paralyzed

On Wednesday morning, a teenager accused of shooting an Oak Hill man and leaving him paralyzed has turned himself in.

The teenager, identified as James Powell, was just one of two teens suspected of shooting the man. The other teen, Sylvano Leslie, turned himself in on Monday night, 

Both teens, although at different times, turned themself in at the Daytona Beach Police Department.

Powell and Leslie are accused of shooting 45-year-old Joel Tatro. 

According to Sheriff Mike Chitwood, Tatro allowed his teenage sons to have their friends over on Sunday, night. but when he intervened after his son asked the party-crashers to leave, shots were fired. Tatro was critically injured.

The State Attorney’s Office will decide whether to charge Leslie as an adult. He remains in juvenile court. However, it is unknown how they will charge Powell.
