Orlando weather: Another pleasant day in store for Friday, with highs in the 80s

Partly cloudy skies will persist through the evening and overnight, with patchy fog developing along the east coast and in the Orlando metro area late tonight into early morning.

What is the forecast for Friday?

What to expect:

Lows will range from the upper 50s to the low 60s across the region.

Another beautiful day is in store for Central Florida on Friday afternoon, kicking off the weekend on a warm and sunny note.

High pressure continues to bring dry air into the region, keeping skies clear and temperatures rising into the low 80s.

Dry and warm into the weekend

What To Expect:

High pressure remains in control through the weekend and much of next week. Super Bowl party plans are in good shape, with ideal outdoor conditions. Expect highs in the low 80s and overnight lows in the low 60s.

Next week looks to follow a similar pattern, with minimal rain chances and plenty of sunshine. A cold front could bring some showers around the time of the Daytona 500, but it’s too early to pinpoint details. If it materializes, temperatures could cool slightly by next weekend.

Will it rain on the Daytona 500 race day?

What we know:

A significant cold front is expected to push through the eastern U.S. around the weekend of the Daytona 500.

What we don't know:

The exact timing of this cold front is still unclear, and when it arrives, it could play out in two different scenarios.

Scenario 1: If the front moves through on race day, rain and storms are possible but would likely be fast-moving, minimizing delays. Behind the front, expect clearing skies, gusty winds and cooler temperatures.

Scenario 2: If the front slows and remains north in the Tennessee Valley, Florida could experience unseasonably warm conditions, potentially making this one of the hottest Daytona 500 races on record. In this case, sunny and dry conditions would prevail.

More details will become clear as race day approaches.
