Orlando Police Department given grant to buy body cameras

Orlando Police Officers added new tools to fight crime to their arsenal.

A grant from the Justice Department will allow the Orlando Police Department to buy 450 body cameras. The department tested 50 cameras in 2015. They said there were fewer citizen complaints, fewer cases of resisting arrest and a smaller number of injuries to suspects and officers.

Police Chief John Mina said every Orlando Police Officer will soon be wearing one.
