On Thursday night, the Coast Guard used helicopters to rescue the 12 crew members aboard the Minouche.
The crew abandoned the 212-foot, Bolivian-flagged cargo ship when it started to sink near Haiti after being caught in Hurricane Joaquin.
Crew members were found clinging to a life raft.
