Child hit by a golf cart on the beach in New Smyrna Beach

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - A golf cart driving on the beachfront collided into a child in New Smyrna Beach Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened around 5 p.m. near the 1100 block North The Beach.
Volusia County Beach Safety says the child only received minor injuries.
When units arrived on scene the child was awake and alert, and was transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons.
