70 people rescued from Volusia County beaches due to strong rip currents

Saturday was another dangerous day at the beach in Volusia County.

Lifeguards reportedly rescued 70 people from the water because of strong rip currents on Saturday.

They say if you get caught in a rip current, stay calm and do not fight the current. Swim parallel to the shore until you are out of the current's grip and then swim to the shore. If you can't swim out of the current, calmly float or tread water, and wave or shout for help.
