Live updates: Officials are evaluating damage and impacts after several inches of rain fell on portions of Brevard County and Lake County Sunday night, flooding streets, yards, and some homes.

Brevard County officials reported widespread flooding across Cocoa, Titusville and Indialantic after heavy rainfall Sunday. 

A flood watch has been issued for Orlando and most of Central Florida on Monday as more rain is expected throughout the day.

Hurricane Melissa became a powerful Category 5 hurricane in the Caribbean on Monday.  It was mostly stationary and about 150 miles from Kingston, Jamaica, the National Hurricane Center said.

After heavy rains moved through Central Florida overnight, parts of Lake County flooded, including Mount Dora. 

Heavy rains in Central Florida on Sunday caused damage in parts of Lake and Brevard counties, with some areas seeing flash floods and washed out roads.

Several inches of rain fell in parts of Brevard County and Lake County in Florida, causing major flooding along streets, roadways, and in some neighborhoods.

Several flash flooding alerts have been issued for areas along the Space Coast after several inches of rain have fallen in a short amount of time, officials have said.
