Interstate 95 in Brevard County, Florida was covered in hail after strong storms moved across Central Florida Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday has been declared a FOX 35 Storm Alert Day. There is the potential for strong to severe storms to form across much of Central Florida during the afternoon and evening hours, bringing with them the risk for large and damaging hail, gusty winds, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours. A brief tornado could also be possible.

It's a FOX 35 Storm Alert Day as we monitor the potential for severe weather across Central Florida. Strong to severe storms will start to fire up Wednesday afternoon. Large hail, damaging winds and very heavy rain will be the primary weather threats.

Central Florida can expect another round of showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday, primarily after 2 p.m. Strong storms are again possible with the chance of heavy rain, lightning, strong wind gusts, and small hail.
