FOX 35 Investigates looked into the history of a 30-year-old man accused of being drunk, speeding, and driving without a license after rear-ending a motorcyclist on Interstate 4 over the weekend. Edwin Gabriel Amaya Reyes was arrested and booked into jail on charges of DUI, driving without a license, and leaving the scene of a serious injury crash. FHP said Reyes was found hiding in some woods after the crash. His BAC was more than 2 times the legal limit, FHP said. According to online records, this is the third time Reyes has been stopped for driving without a license since 2018. Records show he was fined in 2018, 2022, and 2026. In 2024, he was cited by a traffic camera for failing to stop at a red light, records show. FHP said due to not having a driver's license, ICE was contacted. ICE then put a detainer on him. FHP said the man on the motorcycle was thrown from his bike and taken to the hospital. That rider remains in critical condition.
