For those heading to campus, there will be several new safety measures in place to keep face-to-face learners and teachers safe.

Officials say a person positive for COVID-19 had been on the school campus.

Two 5th-grade teachers giving in-person instruction at an Altamonte Springs elementary school began the new school year self-quarantining after one of them tested positive for COVID-19, the school district said.

Because of COVID-19, all students will have to wear a mask on the bus. If they don’t have one, the bus driver will give them one.

Though many parents experienced technological issues on the first day of Orange County virtual learning, the superintendent says the district handled it well.

Thousands of Orange County students logged onto the county's virtual school on Monday. Some parents say at-home learning is not an option so they have organized learning pods at City of Orlando neighborhood centers.

Administrators in Seminole County say they are prepared to welcome back students as the state battles COVID-19.

Florida will hold a sales-tax “holiday” from Friday through Sunday, allowing back-to-school shoppers to avoid paying sales taxes.

The back-to-school tax-free weekend is now underway. Computers will be a big purchase item this year because of remote learning.

Children's counselor Kristen Nardalillo said that managing the roles of an employee, parent, and teacher is a lot of responsibility.
