Orlando weather: Mostly sunny end to work week with next significant rain chance arriving this weekend

Cloudy skies on tap through the overnight keeping temperatures warmer than what we have seen all week. Lows will dip into the 40s.

Moisture in the gulf will start to drift into Central Florida, bringing cloudy skies on Thursday. High temperatures will only be in the low to mid 60s.

High pressure takes hold of the region on Friday as a shot of warm air pops our temperatures up into the upper 60s with mostly sunny skies. Don't get too comfy with this warm up as our next cold front pushed through this weekend. Ahead of the cold front this weekend, our rain chances amp up and possibly bring in a few thunderstorms into Central Florida on Saturday night and Sunday.

CHANGES ARRIVE THIS WEEKEND

What to expect: Temperatures will remain below normal through Friday of this week, with afternoon highs staying in the 60s.

By this weekend, temperatures and rain chances will be on the rise. Highs will actually return to above normal values, peaking in the mid 70s for Saturday and Sunday.

Although it will be rainy, especially on Sunday, temperatures will shoot above average into the mid and upper 70s. The main threats are heavy downpours, gusty winds and the chance of a few thunderstorms.

This kicks off what will be an active pattern into next week. This will bring temperatures back down into the 60s for the following Monday.
