Metal detectors put on hold at Parkland high school

A Florida School district is putting it's plans on hold when it comes to school security.

While Marjory Stoneman Douglas High was originally supposed to receive metal detectors, they now will not be installed for the start of classes.

The Sun Sentinel reports that the Broward County Superintendent sent a letter to parents, informing them that the plans for the metal detectors are on hold. A school safety workshop is scheduled for later this month to discuss how to get the more than 3,000 students through metal detectors each morning.
